Pollinator garden ideas
A pollinator garden is a working habitat: nectar and host plants massed in big single-species blocks, sequenced so something is in bloom from early spring to late fall, with goldenrod and asters closing the season. A shallow pebble-filled water dish and a bee house finish it.

How to get the look
- 1Plant in blocks of one species, a square metre at a time, so foraging insects can find them.
- 2Plan for three seasons of bloom and let goldenrod and aster carry the autumn.
- 3Include host plants, not just nectar: milkweed for monarchs, and skip the pesticides.
