Modern yard ideas
Modern landscaping is built on restraint: a few strong lines, one or two plant forms repeated, and empty space that is allowed to stay empty. Ornamental grasses in rectangular planters, low structured beds and sculptural evergreens give it rhythm; crisp paving and a limited palette keep it calm.

How to get the look
- 1Reduce the plant list. Three or four species, repeated in blocks, read as intent; twelve read as a nursery.
- 2Give every bed a hard edge: steel, concrete or a clean cut line, always straight or one deliberate curve.
- 3Let the paving be the ornament. Large-format pavers, gravel bands and a strip of grass are the whole composition.
