YardRemake is built and run by one person. Not a team, not a startup with a floor of designers — one person who got tired of AI yard tools that produce a beautiful picture full of plants that would die by February.
Where the plant knowledge comes from
Any image model can draw a nice shrub. The harder part is knowing whether it belongs in your yard — so that half isn’t generated at all.
Care details, mature sizes and hardiness ranges come from the Missouri Botanical Garden's plant finder and NC State Extension's horticulture database — university and botanical-garden references, not scraped listings.
The freeze warning doesn't consult a hardiness map. It finds the recorded winter lows at the stations nearest your ZIP and compares them against the plant, so "this will struggle" means something specific about your street.
Cost ranges are assembled from public contractor and nursery guides, each cited in the source, then adjusted for regional labour using federal wage data. They're a ballpark for planning — never a quote, and never from a contractor who paid to be there.
You won’t find a user count on this site
There was one once. The homepage said “Trusted by 2,400+ homeowners” and I had made the number up, so I deleted it. Every competitor in this category advertises a figure like that. Mine would have been the same kind of fiction, and I’d rather you could trust the small claims than be impressed by a big one.
The same rule applies to the pictures. Every before-and-after on this site is real, unretouched output from the same engine you get — rendered on stock houses and labelled as such, never a stranger’s yard passed off as a customer’s.
What it can’t do
Worth knowing before you pay for anything.
- It redesigns planting, beds, lawns and hardscape. It won't move your house, re-grade a slope, or design a deck or pool.
- It reads one photo. It has no idea what's underground, where your pipes run, or which way the water flows after a storm.
- Plant identification is good, not perfect. Where the AI is vague about a species, you'll now see that it's a general match rather than a specific cultivar dressed up as certainty.
- The cost estimate is a planning range from published guides. Get real quotes before you spend real money.
If it gets it wrong
If a generation fails, its credits go straight back to your balance — you don’t have to ask. If you paid for something and it didn’t do what you expected, email me and I’ll refund it. I’d rather you were treated fairly than technically correctly, and there’s no support queue to get through: the address below reaches one person, and I answer within two working days.
