Prairie meadow yard ideas
A prairie meadow is a knee-high tapestry of native bunchgrasses threaded with coneflower, black-eyed susan, blazing star and yarrow, self-sown and blurred into one another. No mulched beds, no clipped edges, seedheads left standing through winter, and the whole planting moving in the wind.

How to get the look
- 1Make grasses the majority, at least half the plants, and let the flowers thread through them.
- 2Mow a clean edge or a path through it. That one line is what makes the meadow read as intended.
- 3Leave it standing over winter and cut it all down once in late winter.
